I am pleased to share that for the fourth consecutive time and second year in a row, CHI Franciscan has earned Leapfrog Safety Grades consistent with the best ranked facilities in the nation—receiving all ‘As’ and ‘Bs’ and is one of the best performing health systems throughout Washington state. Particularly as we continue to manage the ongoing and difficult effects of COVID-19, I applaud and congratulate our entire team for this achievement. Your commitment to exceptional patient care and safety is evident and the reason why our communities continue to choose us as their partner in health.

The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit health care rating organization, releases its Safety Grades biannually for more than 2,600 acute care hospitals across the country. The scores, reported as a letter grade, are a composite score determined from a variety of 27 national patient safety measures indicating how well hospitals prevent errors, injuries, and infections. In addition, Leapfrog rates hospitals for quality care and patient experiences. All CHI Franciscan hospitals have achieved sustained high grades which is a testament to the focus of our entire team to ensure practicing safe, quality care remains our highest priority.
